It’s your guarantee that you’re the top professional in your specific trade. It also means you have completed a stringent, multi-year apprenticeship program, achieved journeyman status and passed a comprehensive MSCC Certification exam in your area of expertise. MSCC Certified Technicians are the best, most efficient, highly skilled workers available.
How To Become An MSCC ‘Gold Standard’ Certified Technician
Application & Testing Process
To become a MSCC Gold Standard Certified Technician you must complete and submit the application form and pass the online exam. MSCC will then provide with access to the online exam site as well as a unique username and password to access the online test. You have 30 days to login and finish the multiple-choice test. The test is taken online and consists of 30-40 questions. The test must be completed within 2 hours. A pass is a minimum 70%.
This exam was designed by service managers and technicians. It is intended to test your skills, competency and common sense in several areas specifically relevant to your trade. It was developed for the journeyman service technician in a fair and professional format.

Required Documentation & Commitment
The following is required as part of the Gold Standard Technician application:
a) Training – provide a qualified journeyman license
b) Experience – supply written endorsement from your employer
c) Written Exam – write the online exam in your specific area(s) of expertise
d) Commitment – sign and submit annual commitment form stating you continue to meet the criteria
e) Education – maintain proof of ongoing education through a minimum one course per year
